Just as in the 1930s, we can see that the major powers are divided into aggressive fascist tyrannies and non-aggressive democracies. This parallel also extends to the far right. In both cases we have rightist in the aggressor states set on conquests and rightists in democracies spreading pacifism. In the European context we are talking about Russia versus everybody else.
It is good to see that nowadays the far right in Europe do not want to invade their neighbors or retake their colonies. Their ill will towards foreigners is mainly confined to an indifference to their woes and a hostility towards immigrants. However, their pacifism makes them dangerous, useful idiots in the service of the Ruscists. They are Wannabe modern-day Quislings you might say. Broadcasting the Russian connection as precisely as possible should be the primary focus when dealing with these creeps.
They parrot the Ruscist line on the invasion of Ukraine. It is all the fault of Europe and Ukraine. Of course, the reality is that the Ruscists cannot afford to have a democracy next door and they consider that Ukraine should really be part of Russia and a new czarist empire.
The Quislings and Ruscists share the same set of ideas. They are all ethnonationalists who dream up all kinds of internal and external enemies. Their degenerate West narrative is pretty similar.
The Quislings look benignly upon a regime that is tyrannical and corrupt in the extreme. It is a playbook for how to white-ant ostensibly accountable representative government. Orban in Hungary has obviously been attending master classes.
They are supported by the Russian regime in various ways including funds and social media manipulation. They lead the way in opposing the European rearmament response to the Ruscist threat. Orban and the German AfD deserve special mention here.
Focusing on their role as fifth columnist Quislings is the best way to put them on the defensive and to unite everyone against them. It is they who are the internal enemy, and Putin and company are a much more credible external threat than illegal immigrants.
A lot of things are up in the air at the moment. Trump is a moveable feast. The Ukraine war would have been won by now if it had received the support it needed instead of bogged down. The Scandinavian-Baltic-Polish Front is solid but further south rightists hold sway in Hungary and Slovakia, and Romania is threatened. The center seems to be holding in the major powers -
Italy, Germany and UK. Italy's Giorgia Meloni appears to be setting a good example for the less far right. She has gone fairly middle of the road on immigration, and has supported Ukraine and European rearmament. Who knows what will happen two years from now in the French presidential election and its effect on European solidarity.
The big plus is European rearmament, which is starting to look inexorable. Also, the corrupt, rightwing governments with democracy deficits in easter Europe are facing growing popular and noisy opposition. They are not outsiders who can gain support by claiming to be a new broom. They are incumbents who are totally on the nose. Hopefully, the smell will waft into the rest of Europe.

I have started a small monthly paper that I print in small numbers and hand around when the opportunity arises. It will be a mix of Substack posts and other material. It is double-sided A4 and easy to print copies. Here is the [May issue].
Posts are now organized by topics, and the TOPICS link can be found on the Navigation Bar.
